One Republic, Flo Rida along with BadHorse to Support National Day of Awareness In What Is Shaping Up As The Largest National Student Movement in Decades

Boca Raton, Florida (PRWEB) April 05, 2012

Spanish River High School students said enough is enough when it comes to the teen death rate while texting and driving. Spanish River, located in Boca Raton, Florida is the anchor high school responsible for cultivating a grassroots, student-to-student movement that is involving schools from all over the country.

The Spanish River Student Leadership, led by event founder Ross Brenner, President of the Sophomore Class, and Dalton Holody, Vice President, are proud to announce the collaboration of several major music recording artists who have agreed to lend their support to the national base of students in middle, junior, and high schools across the country. The event will take place on April 28, 2012, on the campus of Florida Atlantic University (http://www.fau.edu) in the new state-of-the-art 30k seat stadium just opened in October 2011.

Rock 2 Live Music Festival

To raise awareness, the teens planned the Rock 2 Live Music Festival, to take place on April 28th at Florida Atlantic Universitys brand new stadium. The concert and the broadcast of the event through a revolutionary live streaming interface will help the message of responsible texting reach a national audience. In doing so, the campaign hopes to reach an audience of millions.

The Rock 2 Live Music Festival has attracted some A-List talent including: Grammy nominated One Republic; Flo Rida, red hot country act BadHorse; Canadian alternative band Surface Rising; Pop Rock singer/songwriter Jessica Dawn; and others still to be announced. Tickets for the 30,000 person festival will go on sale on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.

Spanish River and Boca Raton are quickly becoming known as places of leadership and responsibility, and these artists are committed, along with these student leaders in sending a strong message into the teen community throughout the country to Not Drive Distracted.

In addition to the in-person concert event, a pioneering streaming broadcast and interactive event, designed by Gotham Media Services, will carry the concert to a live audience all over the country. E-Tickets for this live streaming event will be available via Ticketmaster.

A Growing Coalition

As part of their national outreach project, the Spanish River Student Leadership Council, led by Ross Brenner, reached out to politicians, educators, responsible texting organizations and companies in order to create a coalition of supporters to help carry the message of safe driving to their communities.

One of the major supporters of the initiative, PhoneGuard (OPMG:PK), the developer of the leading safe phone app for smartphones, has agreed to give their software away for free with every e-ticket sold in support of the initiative, a $ 19.99 value. Boca Raton-based PhoneGuard, who has partnered up with two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Justin Bieber has already filmed a PSA concerning distracted driving that airs on their website (http://www.phoneguard.com).

Keith StClair, Chairman of PhoneGuard (OPMG: PK), stated that he was delighted that the company could make a significant contribution to thousands of schools throughout the country, as well as, supporting a number of charities including the Alex Brown Foundation. http://www.rememberalexbrownfoundation.org/

This is a crossroads in our lives. Either we do what is right, or we sit on the sidelines. We have chosen to stand with these students, and save the lives of our children, parents, and peers, added St Clair.

All artists invited were selected by student requests and made possible by Global Maximus Productions. The students felt it was important that there be major caliber artists involved in order to get their message out to the largest possible audience.

Preceding the music festival, a Public Awareness Market will be held outside of FAUs stadium. The family-oriented market will include booths staffed by responsible texting advocates and will include distracted driving simulators and an opportunity for persons to take The Pledge to not drive while distracted. Local food trucks will be in attendance to add a festive atmosphere and delicious edibles for the event. Admission to the Public Awareness Market is free and open to the public, starting at 2:00 p.m., on April 28th.

Life-like Online Streaming

The event will be streamed Live from Florida Atlantic University so that a national audience can be a part of the awareness campaign and experience the events and concert, live. A next-generation content delivery network, powered by Gotham Media Services, Inc. will provide viewers with an incredibly crisp, lag-free viewing experience on their computer, tablet, or mobile device.

The event will be used as a means for the participating schools to become an interactive part of the movement. The producers are allowing the attraction to be used to raise badly needed funds through the national fundraising program. The program is supported by Global Maximus Productions, producers of the interactive event with hundreds of schools across the country already committed with several thousand schools possibly in support of the program all working together.

We are incredibly grateful to our producers, strategic partners, supporters, and partner schools throughout the country for their amazing encouragement, involvement, and assistance to this important movement, states Ross Brenner.

All of us have been, or very likely will be, touched by the tragic death of people close to us killed by distracted driving or while texting, states Dwaine Rivers, Executive Producer of the event. This historic event was brought to the national front by teens reaching out to other teens that are tired of seeing their friends die, and this event will bring awareness to a new level on this deadly subject, Rivers concludes.

I am very happy to help make a difference in supporting the student movement and these great artists. Its an honor to be in support of such an inspiring movement led by these students. It has been a great experience already seeing the program develop into a mainstream national event of historic levels, adds Alex Rajaphoumy Executive Producer.

Global Maximus Productions has agreed to support the production of the event annually through 2016, with plans to designate the third Saturday in March each year to represent the National Day of Awareness Against Texting & Driving.

Tickets to the event are go on sale today and will be available through all Ticketmaster locations (http://www.ticketmaster.com).

Jersey Jack Pinball, Inc. to Release First Game, The Wizard of Oz Pinball Machine

Lakewood, New Jersey (PRWEB) April 06, 2012

On January 1st 2011 when amusement game industry veteran Jack Guarnieri announced the formation of a new company to design and build commercial Pinball Machines, the world of Pinball turned upside down. The company known as Jersey Jack Pinball, Inc. had licensed the iconic Warner Brothers property, The Wizard of Oz to be their first game. Jack’s roots are in pinball since 1975 when he started to repair electromechanical pinball machines.

Jersey Jack Pinball, Inc. (JJP) will build 1,000 very special Emerald City Limited Edition versions followed by a standard version Wizard of Oz Pinball Machine which the company expects to sell many thousands of worldwide. Since JJP began taking pre-orders shortly after they announced the title, by last July they were sold out of the Limited Edition games although a few games may be available through distributors.

JJP keeps their customers and fans aware of progress via weekly email updates. Jack said “We even have a special online Newsgroup just for WOZ Owners. This has become an amazing community; our customers are just as much a part of this journey as our team members are. Some customers have even said waiting for the email updates from us is like waiting for Christmas morning!” One of JJP’s latest updates revealed the hand drawn created by playfield artist Artist, Greg Freres.

JJP began production officially on March 13th 2012 as many vendors are producing parts for the game in different locations across the country. All of these parts are slowly making their way to JJP’s 42,000 sq foot building in Lakewood, New Jersey where games will be assembled. The plan is to be shipping games in late Spring/early Summer 2012.

Jack assembled a very talented team of accomplished pinball designers and industry experts. The game has been designed with passion and no detail is too small to be overlooked from the artwork on the cabinet to the game programming. Jack believes that a rolling steel pinball and the different design elements and playfield toys is what is the magic of pinball. This mechanical action cannot be duplicated on video games and the fact that pinball is a skill game is one of it’s most loved elements.

This is as much a story of the rebirth of pinball as it is a business story. To pre-sell 1,000 games, millions of dollars worth of a new product in this economy is unheard of and a testament to Jack’s industry reputation. This also puts millions of dollars in motion for vendors to make parts, buy equipment and hire people in support of JJP who’s mission is to use as many suppliers based in the United States even if those parts may cost a bit more.

In recent years, pinball has become more of a novelty in commercial arcades. Through one of Jack’s other companies, PinballSales.com which he founded in 1999 to sell commercial amusement games to the consumer marketplace, Jack has built a reputation for customer service and a customer base of over 12,000 customers all over the world. The trademark saying of PinballSales.com is; “We sell everything nobody needs”.

Pinball today needs to be a game which has the true mechanical action but instead of a static picture in the back head or backbox of the game, JJP’s Wizard of Oz features a commercial 26″ LCD monitor which will display custom animation, scores, and movie clips. The booming sound system which features custom music and voice characterizations from professional actors who marry pinball language and speech calls to the iconic movie weave the classic story through this pinball machine.

The game employs the use of Bally/Williams parts which have been used in what players would agree is the best era parts to have. The game is a wide-body game which gives more room for designers to add toys, ramps, and lots of action to the game. It is loaded with five flippers, four magnets, four pop bumpers, Dorothy’s house located on the upper Munchkinland playfield that a player will have to make a loop shot around to get it spinning and when it drops, the feet of the Wicked Witch of The East pop out from its bottom!

This game will check the boxes of many “industry firsts” and is a paradigm shift for pinball into the 21st century. The idea is to build a new player base of young people who have never played pinball before. Loading JJP’s games with new technology, custom sounds, light shows, physical interaction, and animation on an LCD monitor all add up to a fun experience for millions of new players.
